I have an Excel file, what do I do next?
Be mindful of 3 things:
1- the mobile number must appear in the 3rd column on the file to upload correctly.
2- your numbers must start with 353
3- you must convert the excel file into csv
Your file is easily rectified. Its good practice to work off of a copy.
Steps to change:
1- in cell A and cell B on the first line, key in something if you have no names to upload. A CSV will get rid of empty rows.
2- in row C with your mobile numbers, highlight the entire row. Right Click, select Format Cells and Custom. Choose code 0 and in type, key in 3530. Click OK.
3- the format is now correct, go File/Save As. Give the file a name and in Save as Type select CSV.
How secure are my contacts in the control panel?
Your contacts in your control panel are encrypted with Secure Socket Layer encyption so nobody can gain access to your contacts - only you.
Are subscribers charged to join my list?
If you want subscribers to join your club FREE they send a text message with your keyword e.g WD Club to 53030 and they are added to your list. If already joined nothing happens. No receipt text message is sent back to subscriber.
If you want subscribers to join your club and receive a text alert saying thank you for joining - they are added to your list and charged 0.30 cents.
What is a keyword?
A keyword is a word that you choose to represent your business e.g: you are a hotel in Wexford, your keyword might be wx hotel. You then publicise your keyword, advertise it in your building or somewhere that your customers will see it. When your customer texts your keyword to 53030 from their mobile phone, their contact details are saved in your group. Whenever you want to send a text just log in and send it to your group.
Can I save contacts in my etext admin?
When a customer texts your keyword to 53030 their details are saved in your contacts. You can manage your contacts into separate groups so that when you send a text you need only send it to the contacts that refer to the subject in that text. You can use your etext admin to store your contacts, move them from group to group and delete whenever you choose. Just login.
Can I upload contacts?
Can I upload contacts? You can use a CSV file. If your contacts are in a format that you are not sure of or dont think are compatible you should contact us to find out if we can convert them. Aswell as uploading contacts you will get a free keyword which your customers can text to 53030. By doing this they are adding their contacts into your group.
Can I receive texts?
You can have the receive texts function turned on in your etext admin. When this function is turned on a receipt text is sent on subscription. This text is billed to the customer at a rate of usually 30cent. You can word the receipt text yourself or we can set a standard receipt text for you.
How do I send a group text?
When you want to send a text message to your group, simply log into your etext.ie admin. Select the group or contacts you want to send to and then create a text.
What about Premium texts?
The Premium text function is not built into your package. If you want to send premium texts there is an additional fee for this. Sending Premium texts to your subscribers at a rate of €2.50 per text usually relates to betting tips, join a competition etc.
